"Taking a sudoku Break"
May 26 2009, 9:17 AM EDT
Are you feeling stressed? Are you wondering how you are going to pay your bills? Are the kids driving you crazy? Is this starting to sound like an advertisement for a spa or vacation spot? But wait! You can’t afford those places. So what am I talking about? I am talking about a “Sudoku Break”! A “Sudoku Break” is when you stop everything, go to your local coffee shop - not a Starbuck or Dunkin Donuts, pick a locally owned and operated shop; they are more comfortable - and take out your favorite Will Shortz or Frank Longo sudoku collection. Take along a sharp pencil with a good eraser. I don’t know about your home, but in my home I have a difficult time finding a pencil with a soft eraser on the end of it. You can use a pen if you are a real sudoku player. (Bring along some white out as well.) What level of puzzle should you start with? If it has been a while since you’ve worked a sudoku puzzle, you may want to ease into it with an easy or moderate one. If you really want to beat a stubborn puzzle you have been working on, jump right in and start with that one. Either way, engage your brain and enjoy! Once you have solved a few puzzles and have to return to your real world, your mind should be purged of your frustration. Your problems won’t be gone, but you can start over with a clear head. Hopefully, you’ll see something different and things will look better to you. Hey, I know sudoku is only a game. But one, it is a cheap game, and two, it has some definite mental health benefits. So why not take advantage of it? Happy puzzling! The Sudoku Master www.sudokugamemaster.com David@sudokugamemaster.com Do you find this valuable? |
